Brazil's Top Film & Television Apps on Android Q1 2021: A Sensor Tower Report

In the first quarter of 2021, Brazil's Android users showed their preferences in Film & Television apps, with performance insights provided by Sensor Tower. Here's a closer look at the top applications' trends in downloads and weekly active users.

Disney+ experienced a decrease in downloads from 1M in the last week of December 2020 to 289K in the final week of March 2021. Despite this downward trend, weekly active users remained high, starting at 2.8M and slightly decreasing to 2.4M by the end of Q1. Revenue followed a similar pattern, peaking at 144K USD in late January before settling to 108K USD by March's end.

Pluto TV: Watch TV & Movies saw its downloads peak at 476K in early March, with a subsequent drop to 318K by the quarter's close. The platform's weekly active users reached a high of 1M in early March, showing a significant increase from the 444K at the start of the period.

Netflix maintained steady download numbers, starting with 350K and ending the quarter with 309K. The weekly active users for Netflix exhibited a slight decline, from 31.6M down to 29.3M.

Globoplay: Assista ao BBB 24!, the Brazilian app, showed remarkable performance in revenue, starting at 140K USD and growing to 202K USD by the end of March. Downloads spiked to 493K in early February, later stabilizing around 251K. Weekly active users showcased an impressive peak at 10.6M in February, with a slight decrease to 10.3M by the close of Q1.

Amazon Prime Video downloads saw an increase mid-quarter with a jump to 308K in mid-March from an initial 242K, ending slightly lower at 227K. Weekly active users showed a consistent increase from 2.6M to 2.5M throughout the quarter.
